For a few weeks this summer, I have been lucky to spend time walking in stunning locations, indulging my need for dry sunshine, disconnecting from the internet, and also, to hear some splendid live music.
Your writing stirred up memories of youthful “I can do no wrong” optimism. I wanted to be a juvenile court judge, a graphic designer the likes of Milton Glaser, and a taxi driver. Thanks for taking me back there.
I love these memories of yours Amy! How fun to share them and putting into words so well what kind of youthful optimism I struggled to capture. I'm so delighted you had a little trip 🤗
What a lovely homage! To Jayden specifically but to the power of music more widely, especially the particular magic of live music 😊 I'm off to give him a listen! Just wish it was in a wine bar in California and not just on my sofa 😅
The descriptions of sitting in wine bars in the sun listening to music in Santa Barbara made me want to jump on a plane.
It must be a joy to see these young kids mature in their profession and their personality, and express optimism and full steam ahead with their young lives. It's enriching and hopeful.
Yes, the wine bars in Santa Barbara are really something! So many within blocks of each other, and close to the beach too. Plus yummy food. Of course, except for the beach, you can have several wine-drinking opportunities just around the corner in your lovely plaza.
Seeing inspiring passionate people doing what they want to be doing well is always thrilling. It is hopeful indeed, something I am clinging on to, whenever I can find it!

Oh, this heart warmer of a post has made me glow all over! I love how you've been supporting Jayden like this - that's beautiful!
I thoroughly enjoyed this feel-good story!
Thank you Sonia! It was a treat to write it!

And hopefully we can be that way too for other people!
Nice to read about a buoyant, optimistic, and hard-working group of talented youths! We need lots of these!
Indeed we do! And live music as often as we can find it!
I thoroughly enjoyed this feel-good story!
