You are so right about happy accidents that happen while traveling. I think that committing to travel has an silent agreement to accept whatever comes your way ;-) But phone problems...ugh! Those should be an exception. Happy Holidays!
Ha! It is all part of learning to cope with random challenges, at least that is what I am saying now that it is in the past! What a great way to approach travel: 'silent agreement to accept whatever comes your way.' Exactly!
Thank you for this wonderful read full of joy, gratitude, humor, and fun. That's what we need these days. I'm so happy for you and yours that you got to spend this precious time together. It's rare. Not having spent a traditional Thanksgiving holiday with the children in perhaps nine years, your post makes me ache to have one again. It's such an important day. I'm putting it on the books for next year. Celebrating together makes a big difference in the day.
Thank you. It really does make the day special to be with our beloved families. I'm storing up all the regular moments together: little stitches holding my heart together. I'll keep my fingers crossed for your own big Thanksgiving next year. ❤️
As someone who tends to get uncomfortable when things don’t go as expected, I greatly appreciate your wise words. In an attempt to increase my physical flexibility, I’ve recently upped my yoga game (with mixed results so far), but I need to work on my mental flexibility as well. Thanks for this reminder, and happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
Such great thoughts so beautifully expressed. Am no stranger to shaking my own metaphorical fist at corporate nonsense, and sympathise with the phone issues!
Thank you Rebecca. So happy to have that all behind me, leaving only a shaking of my head in amazement. Luckily the rest of our time there was joy-filled and that is my take-away. Sorry to hear you can sympathise! Not always the kind of experience you want to be able to bond over 🤣🤣🤣
Semi-related comments. Free flowing Elwha River. The salmon are loving it. I worked in a roundabout way on the dam removal project. Space Needle and Bumbershoot; can't have one without the other. A least you had some sun for dog walking. We would go through 3 or 4 towels at times to dry off the "herd" after walks in Puget Sound.
Yes, yes, the beautiful free-flowing Elwha! Pete has worked on various dam-removals for decades, so this was a pilgrimage of sorts to see it now in all it's glory. The NPS ranger was quite bemused when we said we want to visit the former dam sites (couldn't this trip, sadly), so she led us to other places we could access the river. And yes, we are grateful for every day of sunshine we have had.
I can't imagine how many towels you must go through every day in wet weather with your gang! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Thank you. Keep them crossed. Just this morning I was running through different options about where and how. So glad you are enjoying your time.
I enjoy reading your work. You know how to play my heart strings!
Thank you Amy for reading! I appreciate it, and you!
