Divine post, Sabrina. Am there with you (quietly, I promise). Particularly the troll - a Thomas Danbo? I love his work and wish he'd come to create one in our precious forests.
You guessed right Prue. Thomas Danbo has three (I think) in the Seattle Area; I've been lucky enough to see two. Hope to see the third one next visit. They are so clever and creative! And thank you for the appreciation and the quiet 'company'. It was a special week. xx
NIce. Those views of the PacNW are what I miss about that area. That and the food selection. The traffic, not so much. Lighthouse - Point No Point? Was the troll on Bainbridge Is? View of downtown from up around Blue Ridge, Loyal Heights or maybe further north. Since I lived south of Seattle I didn't know that area as well as my wife who had kids in her Woodland Park Zoo program from all over the area.
The views are amazing, aren't they?! The lighthouse is Point Robinson on Vashon Island, and the troll is just up the hill from the lighthouse. The food is also amazing-great fresh food. Thanks for the comments Crowell!
Once again, I loved this post. It's fuuuuuuuuuuull of internal and external beauty plunging into the joys of the out-of-doors and the day-to-day living and stuff with the children. Your joy and gratitude exude off the page.
From a literary perspective, you did a brilliant job with graphic details and images, taking readers with you on the journey, short sentences, word repetition, humor, line spacing, and use of white space. And anything that has avocado, mountains, forests, and flowers all in one sitting has to be wonderful.
Thank you so much for all the gracious comments Andrea! I am honoured. It was one of those that came straight out of my heart onto the page (and then suffered with endless rewrites!). And oh my goodness, yes, it helps to start with avocado, mountains, forests, and flowers as the main ingredients as well as favourite people.
At this point, I may not have the heart/stomach to discuss elections next week. We'll see....
This is so beautiful Sabrina! And in so many ways, as beautifully described by your previous commenters. The time with grown up “kids who are no longer kids” is precious in SO MANY ways - thank you for your heartfelt descriptions of that. I loved it! Plus so fun seeing the Seattle pics to re-enjoy our trip of this past spring…

He is such an artist. I envy you seeing the sculptures. Enjoy the rest of your time away.
Oh, such a beautiful post, Sabrina - thank you for taking your readers along with you on this gorgeous journey of words and pictures. 😊
Thank you for your very kind words Rebecca. I'm glad you enjoyed the journey! It was a special one for me. xx
The fact that it was special really shows. xxx

I bet you'll have a lot to say next week. Alas.

We'll see. Elections won't be pretty at all.
