I love the description of the unladylike grunts and shouts come from the Ladies Walk. Go ladies!
I admire your adventuresome spirit. Sometimes, I curtail mine because, with my serious map reading impairment, I'm afraid I'll get lost. Not that anything bad would happen if I did, I would just feel badly, and really stupid, so I try to avoid that.
Great insight to making a train, rather than missing one. It does give a fine feeling of satisfaction, especially when you've calculated to get there just in time and you actually do.
Thanks Andrea. It was a day of small pleasures, but sometimes those are just the right level and leave a long-lasting good mood afterwards. I'll try to have something a little more properly adventurous sometime... Maybe it will happen this week when I need to replicate the trip but on Coronation Saturday when the transport links will be messed up and many more people will be out. On the other hand, there will be loads of cheerful bunting everywhere! 🇬🇧 👑 🎉
Thanks for taking the time to comment Amy! I always enjoy you sharing your artistic journeys with us-such a different sphere of creativity to mine, so I really enjoy seeing and reading about it. xx
This is such a beautiful travelogue of your mini-adventure, Sabrina - I've enjoyed every word! We popped into Quarr Abbey gardens on our squirrel trip a couple of months ago - we had a great chat to the pigs. Lovely words and gorgeous photos - I hope to make it back to the island soon! 😊
Thanks Rebecca! I have some great video clips of the little piglets last year, and their relatively giant mamas letting them know where not to go by shoving them into place. It was quite impressive! Selfishly looking forward to your next visit too! 😄
Good morning Sabrina! Yesterday's mini-adventure was a visit to the Mendocino Botanical Gardens. You would have loved the abundant rhododendrons in full bloom. I learned that the white varieties are the most fragrant. Diverse pines, cedars, larch and other evergreens diverse in shape texture size and color were abundant throughout the gardens. The day was inspirational and we returned with several new plants to add to the home garden.
Ohh, lucky you! I haven't been there for a few decades (!) but i remember how amazing it was back then. I can't wait to see the new arrivals in your garden on our next visit. In this country rhododendrons are a bad word (Invasive), so I have had to keep my appreciation under wraps. But I love to see them along the West coast forests!
Thanks Susi! I love getting out every day for a walk in some kind of natural setting. Mainly these days that is along the coast path or the beach, which is not too shabby! Sounds like you have a lot on your plate these days; hopefully the excuse to take photos will help you get to some natural spaces soon!
Don’t know how I missed this one!
The trees! Such lovely trees you have photographed!
Thanks Patti! I LOVE the trees on that particular walk and look forward to seeing them throughout the year. Glad you liked the look for them too.

How lovely! Piglets are the cutest - they're always smiling. Have you noticed? 😊
It's true!

Your little adventure sounds so lovely. I miss walking like this, exploring places and being surrounded by nature.
