We live here, finally
We have been shifting boxes and furniture around our new-to-us home for a little over a week now, and tomorrow we get Internet connection again. I’ll have more to say about all of this when I am not completely exhausted, but I do still keep getting a silly little grin on my face now and then as I realise I actually finally live here.
I like the way the sun warms the back garden in the morning, and how it slants through the window shutters in the front room in the afternoon. We have started taking our daily one-hour walks to explore the neighbourhood a bit more. We can be up in the hills surrounding us in a few minutes, or wander through the nearby houses to check out other people’s gardens and plants. I must admit though I still gravitate towards the sea as often as I can - it is a ten minute stroll and takes my breath away each and every time. I hope I am never bored by that view. After 12 years in Plymouth it never happened, so I have hope.
Hello to new subscribers- thank you so much for reading this and being here. I’ll be more engaging again shortly. Can’t wait to get back to writing!
In the UK we just finished our last Summer Bank Holiday weekend; in the US I know you’ve got Labor Day ahead. Whatever you are doing wherever you are, take time to enjoy the end of the soft summer light and the transition to autumn. It is a lovely time of year.
